Our venue hire packages are completely bespoke and hire rates vary depending on venue and type of event. Please get in touch with us to discuss your requirements and we will provide you with a quote.
Venue hire prices include exclusive use of the venue and some areas of the College grounds, subject to agreement and availability. You will also be assigned an experienced event co-ordinator from our team who will assist with the logistics of your booking. Catering packages are charged separately and include set-up and service on the day.
Our in-house caterers, Lodestone House, cater all private events at Winchester College. We do not allow any external caterers onsite except for wedding cake suppliers.
We have a wide range of wines available and your event co-ordinator can provide you with an up-to-date list. However, you can also bring your own alcohol should you wish, subject to a corkage charge.
In a marquee, we can cater for up to 350 guests. We can accommodate up to 110 guests for most indoor events, depending on your choice of venue. Our auditorium / lecture theatre can seat 250 for a sit-down meal, with a maximum capacity of 470 for a lecture or standing reception.
Due to the historic nature of the site, some of our venues are not easily accessible for those with mobility restrictions. Please get in touch with us to discuss your requirements. We will do everything we can to accommodate your needs.
New Hall, Chapel, School, St Michael’s Church and QEII Theatre are all fully wheelchair-accessible.
There is a hearing loop in Chapel.
We can offer disabled parking for private events, subject to availability.
We have limited parking available onsite subject to availability. Please discuss your parking requirements with us.
We will prioritise providing disabled parking for events when required.
Accommodation at the College is only available for residential groups. However, we are situated very close to the centre of Winchester where there is a vast choice of accommodation available.
Exclusive hire of our main campus is available subject to availability. Venue hire is only available outside of College term time, when pupils and teaching staff are offsite.
We offer range of stunning marquee sites within the College campus and have a number of recommended marquee suppliers.
Old Wykehamists (former pupils) and those in the College community are also invited to hold their wedding ceremony in one of the College’s medieval chapels or at St Michaels Church, Kingsgate, subject to the permission of the Headmaster. None of the College’s venues are currently licensed for civil ceremonies.
